Is your lighting design backed by actual science?

So you're designing the lights and allowing customers to see what they like, getting their feedback on how they're using them. I wonder, from your point of view, are you following any data or any of the science to determine where the light should be placed, or how much glare should be coming off these desk lamps?

How is the science that you're trying to share with the customer — how are they adopting it?
